Sheila Van Dyke

Mission of Laughter's purpose is to bring a smile to the faces of our Nation's Heros that are housed in Veteran's Nursing Homes and Hospitals as well as bases and veterans outreach centers.  Shaking hands and saying Thank You for your service to our country is a small gesture of gratitude, compared to what these men and women have done for our country.  At the VA facilities I do a slide show presentation highlighting photos of my comedy tours to bases in several war torn countries, do a condensed comedy set and set up show n tell of stuff and things that I have collected on those trips and maybe sing a song or two. In some hospitals, the Veterans are too sick to get out of bed.  I spend time going from room to room visiting and sharing a smile, cause my mama taught me well.  American Legions, VFW's, Elks, Masons, Moose, FOE, DAV, AMVETS,Knights of Columbus, have all been stewards of Mission of Laughter for VA Homes and Hospitals by hosting me at their facilities to perform a comedy night.  What do our Nation's Heros love the best?  Just someone to visit with.  If you have a few minutes in your busy day, call your local VA Hospital or Nursing Home.  Find out how you can make a difference in the life of a veteran by just a simple visit.
